Estou usando Debian 9 Stretch (4.9) e uso um dongle Wi-Fi (TL-WN823N V2) para se conectar a um Wi-Fi.
Eu instalei o driver usando este link , e consegui que funcionasse.

lo no wireless extensions.
Eu tentei conectar-me ao meu wifi doméstico, forneci a senha correta, mas não consegui me conectar, ela mostra um pop-up que diz algo sobre "nenhum segredo fornecido".
E eu tenho essas linhas em journal -fa

Mas quando tentei me conectar usando wicd , conectei-me com êxito ao meu wifi doméstico. Eu apenas curioso porque NetworkManager falha ao conectar porque no secrets provided .
