Centos 6.9 erro ao instalar o phpMyAdmin

Estou tentando instalar o phpMyAdmin e recebo este erro

Tentei atualizar para o PHP 5.6 # yum install php55w-pdo-5.5.38-1.w6.x86_64 e obter muitos erros, então tentei remover o PHP com yum remove php

Você está tentando instalar um pacote para o PHP 7, apesar de ter o PHP 5 instalado. Instale o pacote relevante do PHP 5 ou atualize sua instalação do PHP para o PHP 7 para resolver o conflito.
