O sistema de arquivos se torna repentinamente somente de leitura; como depurar isso?

Meu sistema de arquivos raiz e doméstico ext-4 tornou-se repentinamente somente leitura. Como posso descobrir qual foi o motivo disso?

O sistema é ubuntu 16.04 com systemd (instalado em um ssd), onde root e home partition são criptografados com dm-crypt e formatados com um ext-4 fs.

Editar Logo depois que eu escrevi este post, o sistema travou novamente (duas vezes) com uma tela preta / colorida levemente intermitente. Agora parece funcionar novamente.

O /etc/fstab contém para a partição raiz a opção de montagem errors=remount-ro

Alguns sistemas Linux montam partições como somente leitura se não forem desmontadas corretamente e o sistema achar que o sabor apropriado de fsck deve ser executado antes do uso normal.

Verifique seus logs ou dmesg para descobrir se esse é o caso
