Como mudar a Huawei CDMA 2252+ para USB a partir do CD-ROM?

Tenho o celular Huawei CDMA 2252+ e quero conectá-lo ao Linux para enviar SMS. No Fedora 15 (64 bits) é considerado como CD-ROM. Esta é a saída de dmesg depois que o telefone é conectado.

Depois tentei usar usb_modeswitch para alterar o dispositivo para USB da seguinte forma. (Meu dispositivo não está na lista de dispositivos compatíveis com usb_modewitch ).

Não sei se mudei com sucesso o telefone do CD-ROM para o USB. Existe alguma maneira de confirmar isso? Eu não tenho nenhum arquivo ttyUSB na pasta /dev . Como encontrar qual arquivo corresponde ao dispositivo acima? Além disso, quero enviar comandos AT para o telefone. Como fazer isso?
