r8168 conexão cai aleatoriamente

Eu tenho uma placa ethernet Realtek RTL8168 embutida em meu computador (HP ProBook 455 G1), rodando Linux Mint 17.2 Cinnamon 64bits.

Antes de me dizer para substituir o módulo r8169 pré-instalado com o r8168 do site da Realtek, deixe-me dizer que já fiz isso. Eu baixei a versão 8.040.00, sendo a última versão do driver da família R8168, do site da Realtek, compilei e instalei, coloquei na lista negra r8169 e carreguei r8168 .

Desde então eu posso navegar a toda velocidade (sendo a limitação de 15 MB / s pelo meu ISP), mas a conexão é descartada regularmente. Apenas puxando o cabo Ethernet e reconectando-o, posso restaurar a conexão. Reiniciar o serviço NetworkManager, que foi bastante sugerido em vez de reconfigurar o cabo, não tem nenhum efeito.

Além disso, não há saída que julgue relevante em nenhum arquivo de log que eu saiba, sendo /var/log/dmesg ou /var/log/kern.log e /var/log/syslog . Ainda assim, adicionarei partes deles à pergunta.

Tudo que encontrei até agora on-line foi um monte de postagens independentes, todas dizendo como substituir r8169 por r8168 . Então eu não pude encontrar nenhuma ajuda lá, como eu já tinha feito isso.

Tenha em atenção que todos estes link up e link down são provenientes da replicação do cabo, não da falha da ligação.
