Estabelecer o Túnel IPSEC entre dois PCs Ubuntu 12.04 pela LAN

Question

Eu tenho dois 12 bits Ubuntu 12.04 PCs entre os quais eu quero que o IPSec Tunnel seja configurado. Eu configurei o ipsec em ambos os sistemas e ipsec verify roda bem em ambos. Como não tenho experiência anterior com o openswan, acho difícil definir arquivos de configuração.

Consultas:

1. Agora, com base na topologia fornecida (veja a imagem) da minha rede, a configuração acima é correta para os dois PCs.
2. É preciso ser o mesmo para os PCs da esquerda e da direita?
3. Depois de configurar, como posso confirmar se o túnel seguro está funcionando, qual é a melhor ferramenta para verificar os algos sendo usados e o conteúdo do pacote.
4. Dentro da LAN, o túnel ipsec seguro é chamado de encapsulamento host-a-host e a conexão site a site refere-se a quando a VPN entra em ação, certo?
