A placa gráfica VIA “Chrome 9 HC” causa tela preta no CentOS 6.5

Estou usando o Centos 6.5 (i386, totalmente atualizado) e obtenho uma tela preta ao tentar startx. O Debian foi capaz de executar um ambiente de desktop na mesma máquina.

Minha placa gráfica é: CN896 / VN896 / P4M900 [Chrome 9 HC] (Fornecedor: VIA)

Este driver está instalado: xorg-x11-drv-openchrome-0.3.0-3.20120806git.el6.i686.rpm ( link para o driver )

Sou um iniciante no Linux, então tudo que vejo é que o /var/log/Xorg.0.log diz que pode haver um problema com os drivers:
