Após um aptitude safe-upgrade meu laptop não inicializa mais.
Eu gravei este vídeo do processo de inicialização.
Eu tenho acesso a tty1 e, a partir daí, posso executar startx , que funciona sem problemas.

O Mate usa o Lightdm, então eu removi e instalei novamente, mas isso não fez nenhuma diferença. Então eu instalei o XLDE, que usa o lxdm. Novamente, o mesmo problema: tela piscando e coursor piscando.
Portanto, não tem nada a ver com o X, porque eu posso o startx manualmente e não tem nada a ver com o ambiente de desktop, pois tenho o mesmo problema com o Mate e o LXDE.
Alguém tem uma sugestão de onde devo começar a corrigir esse problema?
Estou estudando isso e, aparentemente, a melhor maneira de resolver isso é reinstalar todo o sistema operacional.
Além disso, se você removeu lightdm e instalou novamente, usou apt-get remove lightdm ou apt-get purge lightdm ? A limpeza remove também todos os arquivos de configuração.
