O modem USB G3 Huawei E1550 não funcionou após o desligamento (NetworkManager)

Eu tenho o seguinte problema: Quando eu inicializo com plugado no modem usb está tudo bem. Se eu desligar o modem e ligá-lo de volta, ele não pode mais ser usado.

Update: Teste no Live CD do Xubuntu 11.10

Acabei de testar no Xubuntu.

  • Após a inicialização, tenho o modem USB conectado.
    • O modem foi reconhecido imediatamente pelo sistema e começou a trabalhar
  • Eu o desconectei e o conectei de volta.
    • O modem foi reconhecido e funciona.

Eu diria que o resultado do dmesg do Xbuntu parece similar ao do Arch.
