Por que o leitor de cartão de identificação não está funcionando no Ubuntu 12.04, 12.10? Usando o Omnikey3121

Eu tenho esse Omnikey 3121, que é um leitor de cartão de identificação USB. Conectado ao meu Ubuntu. Quando eu tento ler o cartão de identidade belga ou qualquer outro cartão, ele não funciona sempre em falta para fornecer resultados. Como posso ter certeza de que o cartão é legível em todas as inserções?

FUNCIONA!

Não estava funcionando porque o driver não está correto. Então eu instalei este aqui: link

E agora recebo feedback do leitor de cartão diretamente, onde recebo valores de ATR.

EDITAR:

1) Quando o sistema é inicializado como root, para que o serviço seja iniciado com certeza:

#!/bin/bash
ps aux | grep "pcscd" | grep -v "grep"  | awk '{print }' | xargs kill -9;
pcscd -fd &

2) depois, como seu usuário normal, execute

export DISPLAY=:0.0 && eid-viewer

3) insira o cartão e você deverá vê-lo funcionando
