Debian wifi bloqueado, funcionando somente após suspender

Eu tenho esse problema estranho, conforme descrito no título. Meu sistema é o trecho mais recente do Debian (9.4) em um ThinkPad L380 que possui uma placa Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265. A chave especial para ativar / desativar o Wi-Fi funciona, mas não altera a condição de bloqueio de hardware.

rfkill list all produz o seguinte

Outra coisa que notei é que as teclas especiais para ajustar o brilho da tela mostram o mesmo comportamento.

A atualização do debian stretch para o buster (testing) liberou o problema para mim.

Edit: Se você não quiser atualizar para uma distribuição de teste, há também a opção de instalar um kernel mais novo via extensão backports em vez disso. Depois de atualizar meu /etc/apt/sources.list de acordo, instalei o mais recente o kernel disponível e o wifi funciona na inicialização agora. Também pode ser necessário instalar a versão backports do iwlwifi .

Em conclusão: o problema foi devido a um kernel desatualizado.
