Não é possível instalar / desinstalar pacotes no Debian

Question

Estou tentando instalar / desinstalar pacotes no Debian, mas recebendo erros.

Não consigo remover nem adicionar nenhum pacote, sempre recebendo o erro.

Eu tentei:

apt-get --remove purge package
apg-get remove package
dpkg -r package

Você pode tentar corrigir o problema com um script publicado pelo pokerbirch do Python nos fóruns do Ubuntu (sob CC BY- Licença SA 4.0):

Ele verifica os arquivos de definição de pacote e adiciona um caractere de nova linha, se algum estiver faltando.
