SSH requer autenticação com chaves

Eu estou bastante confuso sobre o motivo pelo qual o ssh requer autenticação de senha, embora eu tenha gerado e copiado chaves.

Instalei o Ubuntu mini 14.04 e, por qualquer motivo, não consigo me conectar a ele sem uma senha via SSH.

No começo, acreditei que era um problema com a máquina convidada que gerava e copiava as chaves, mas esse não é o caso. Aqui está o que eu fiz. Máquina A (Vamos chamá-lo de cliente), Máquina B (Ubuntu Mini, vamos chamá-lo de servidor). De alguma forma, o que fazer em qual máquina fica um pouco confuso em muitas das instruções que encontrei.

  1. Exclua todas as entradas em /home/user/.ssh no cliente e no servidor (certificando-se de que tudo esteja limpo)

No cliente

  1. Gerou chaves ssh-keygen no cliente, passou pelas perguntas e não aplicou uma senha.
  2. Chaves copiadas para o servidor ssh-copy-id [email protected] - senha digitada.
  3. O SSH entrou no servidor, a máquina cliente solicitou a senha, verifiquei se a chave tinha sido copiada pelo servidor. Ele foi listado no arquivo /home/users/.ssh/authorized_keys dos servidores

  4. Eu verifiquei a permissão na pasta /home/user/.ssh e verifiquei se ela era 700

O SSH sempre requer uma senha.

Eu repeti o mesmo processo no servidor e consegui fazer o login automático via ssh para o cliente.

Possível causa: o seu arquivo id_rsa está corrompido?

Eu vejo essas linhas no log que parecem suspeitas:

Eu não tenho essa mensagem quando faço uma conexão ssh ...

Resolvido! As permissões para /home/username também devem ser definidas para 744. Isso não está muito claro em qualquer lugar que eu tenha visto.
