Eu tive esse problema desde que instalei, e tenho tentado resolver isso com minha experiência limitada com o linux (que estou usando há ~ 9 meses).
Gráficos internos no debian não funcionam. Eu posso carregar X. Quase todo o resto dá um erro como este:

Tenho certeza de que isso não é um problema da placa-mãe, porque verifiquei todas as configurações. O Windows 8 funciona bem, detecta tudo sem problemas. Eu testei alguns videogames, todos eles correm bem.
Consegui contornar esse problema por alguns meses ao instalar
libgl1-mesa-swx11
sobre
libgl1-mesa-glx
Esse pacote usa um decodificador de software e, embora consiga resolver o problema, o desempenho não é muito bom. Eu decidi voltar ao libgl1-mesa-glx para resolver este problema. T
