O controlador host USB 3.0 parou de funcionar de repente

Apenas os dois controladores USB 2.0 funcionam corretamente:

Esta foi uma situação muito estranha.

Meu PC é de inicialização dupla com um Windows7. Eu tinha entrado no Windows por um curto período e, enquanto o desligava, ele começou a instalar atualizações.

Em seguida, fiz o login no Ubuntu e os problemas descritos ocorreram.

Voltando ao Windows para concluir a atualização (no momento da inicialização) e, em seguida, voltar ao Linux resolveu o problema.

Ainda estou me perguntando como o Windows conseguiu configurar incorretamente o próprio hardware.

A questão foi embora agora.
