O texto do Ubuntu 16.04 selecionado com o touch pad é imediatamente desmarcado

Ao selecionar mais de uma linha de texto (qualquer lugar: terminal, chrome, gedit, etc.), ela é desmarcada imediatamente quando o dedo é removido do touch pad. Se eu segurar o dedo no touch pad aprox. 1 segundo depois o texto permanece selecionado. Esse problema não aparece ao usar o mouse.
