Login muito lento + resposta muito lenta - erro de dbus? - Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS - no Virtualbox 5.2.18 r124319 (Qt5.6.3) - no MacOS High Sierra 10.13.6

Question

Isso é semelhante aos erros de dbus que eu vejo relatados, mas eles devem ser corrigidos.

O sistema apresenta um desempenho extremamente lento, principalmente no logon - até mesmo o logon do console é muito lento.

Existem erros como:

dbus-daemon[1308]: [session uid=0 pid=1300] Activated service 'org.freedesktop.systemd1' failed: Process org.freedesktop.systemd1 exited with status 1

Para tentar entender isso, executei o comando systemctl status sugerido em alguns relatórios:
