wlp3s0, Interface não suporta varredura: Argumento inválido

Question

Instalei o Ubuntu 16.04 no meu laptop antigo, mas não consigo fazer conexão sem fio

sudo ifconfig wlp3s0 up
mm@6830s:~$ sudo iwlist wlp3s0 scan
wlp3s0    Interface doesn't support scanning : Invalid argument

Tudo parece estar ok

Como resolver esse problema?
