Exibe problemas no Linux Mint depois de trocar a placa-mãe / CPU

Question

Eu tenho funcionado bem com o Linux Mint 17 Cinnamon 64-bit por vários anos. Eu recentemente troquei minha placa-mãe e CPU (nova placa-mãe: MSI B250I Pro; nova CPU: Intel G4560 LGA1151). Geralmente, tudo funciona, mas estou recebendo vários erros de exibição.

Ao fazer o login pela primeira vez, recebo esta mensagem:

Além disso, quando abro o menu Exibir (em Configurações), ele diz que acha que minha área de trabalho é um laptop e a única resolução disponível é 1024x768. Eu esqueci qual era a minha resolução original, mas acredito que fosse maior.

Além disso, quando eu tento rodar o redshift (para alterar a cor da minha tela), ele me dá a seguinte saída e não modifica a cor da minha tela:

O conselho geral parece ser que eu preciso atualizar meus drivers de vídeo. No entanto, parece que a Intel não gosta de suportar versões mais antigas do Ubuntu, e não suporta estritamente o Mint, então há muitas soluções alternativas por aí. Minhas tentativas de usá-las até agora falharam e não consegui executar as ferramentas da Intel.

Existe uma correção direta para todos esses problemas de exibição?
