Ubuntu 17.04 congela enquanto dorme

Eu tenho um problema que me deixou maluco por muito tempo, espero que alguém aqui possa ajudar.

Quando eu tento colocar meu sistema para dormir, aparentemente de forma aleatória, parece que está no processo, mas em vez disso congelará em uma tela preta e meu pc ainda está funcionando com ventiladores, luzes móveis, etc.

Alguém se deparou com um problema semelhante?

Eu tive um problema semelhante e adicionar o seguinte aos parâmetros do kernel solucionou o problema:

acpi_osi= acpi_backlight=vendor
