A webcam no XPS M1530 não funciona com 12.04 [closed]

Eu tenho um Dell XPS M1530 que originalmente veio com o Ubuntu (em 2006 ou mais). A webcam sempre funcionou da caixa em Cheese, Skype, etc. Eu não a uso regularmente, mas eu já tinha testado antes. Eu tentei recentemente depois de atualizar para o Ubuntu 12,04, e estou recebendo uma tela preta em cada aplicativo que eu tento. (A luz da webcam azul continua, eu simplesmente não recebo nenhum vídeo).

Veja o que descobri:

  • Esta é minha webcam, conforme relatado por lsusb : Bus 003 Device 003: ID 05a9:2640 OmniVision Technologies, Inc. OV2640 Webcam
  • Ele deve ser suportado pelos drivers UVC: link
  • Em todas as aplicações testadas, a luz azul acende, mas o vídeo é preto.

  • Saída do Skype (um erro apareceu toda vez que eu desativei o vídeo. Nenhum erro ao ativar o vídeo, mas, claro, apenas uma tela preta e uma luz azul.
