Instalando o Driver AMD: o que exatamente esses erros significam?

Estou tentando instalar um driver para a Radeon HD 7550M / 7570M / 7650M para o meu laptop CentOS 6. Isso é o que estou recebendo quando tento instalar o rpm:

Quando faço de novo:

Depois de fazer este sistema > Preferências > O AMD Catalyst Control Center aparece e, quando eu clico nele, recebo um erro que diz o seguinte:

There was a problem initializing Catalyst Control Center Linux edition. It could be caused by the following.

No AMD graphics driver is installed, or the AMD driver is not functioning properly. Please install the AMD driver appropriate for you AMD hardware, or configure using aticonfig

Eu simplesmente não sei o que esses erros significam ou o que fazer com eles, mas vou investigar isso.

O driver está realmente instalado apesar da mensagem acima? Quando eu faço sudo lsmod | grep fglrx instalado Eu recebo o seguinte:

fglrx 15484006 0

Mas eu não sei. Também da última vez que cheguei até aqui eu fiz aticonfig --inicial e quando eu tentei reiniciar eu tenho uma tela preta e tive que desinstalar via modo de usuário único.
