IIRC, é possível no Ubuntu adicionar o kernel ppa aos seus repositórios (com add-apt-repository
) e então usar apt-get
para instalar o novo kernel.
Eu apenas tentei atualizar meu kernel de 4.2 para 4.6, no Ubuntu 14.04, em um Dell XPS 15 9550. Estou interessado nas melhorias para suporte a USB-C e "Melhorias no suporte a laptops da Dell" no kernel 4.6. / p>
Eu fiz isso baixando linux-headers-4.6.0-040600_4.6.0-040600.201606100558_all.deb
, linux-headers-4.6.0-040600-generic_4.6.0-040600.201606100558_amd64.deb
e linux-image-4.6.0-040600-generic_4.6.0-040600.201606100558_amd64.deb
de link em /tmp
e executando dpkg -i /tmp/*.deb
. Quando eu tento inicializar com o kernel 4.6, ele me coloca no shell BusyBox do initramfs, com a mensagem de erro ALERT! /dev/disk/by-uuid/1e4790ae-0501-4be4-b965-e2b7c77392eb does not exist. Dropping to a shell
