dynadock - falha inesperadamente com “Corrigindo falha recursiva, mas a reinicialização é necessária”

Sempre que conectado ao meu dynadock, meu notebook (Linux Mint rodando o Ubuntu 14.04.1) travou inesperadamente com:

E se eu pressionar Ctrl + Alt + F8 :

Ocasiões especiais em que isso ocorre incluem:

• depois de enviar meu computador para dormir (para economizar energia), mais frequentemente do que ao acordar a tela é exibida (ou ao tentar desligá-lo depois que ele estiver no modo de suspensão). Algumas mensagens que podem ser úteis do syslog:

Eu só notei esse problema depois de conectar meu notebook ao meu dynadock para facilidade de uso.

Eu não entendo o que está causando o erro (o rastreamento não dá pistas para mim), então qualquer explicação e ajuda seria muito apreciada.
