Como faço para que o wifi funcione no meu laptop HP Pavilion dv2000?

Question

Eu tenho visto muitas perguntas sobre o mesmo problema, mas não consegui uma solução. Estou enfrentando o mesmo problema que meu wifi não está funcionando no Ubuntu 11.04, mas funcionando perfeitamente com o Windows 7.

O traço diz que sua placa de rede está "desativada".

Isso acontece quando a placa sem fio tem um interruptor para desligá-la - isso é um comutador físico ou um comutador do tipo Fn +.

Se você não identificar o switch, execute o seguinte:

rfkill list

Isso deve informar todos os dispositivos sem fio como "NÃO" - isto é, não bloqueados.

Por exemplo, para o meu laptop, os resultados são:

    Hard blocked: no

Se minha rede sem fio dissesse "Sim", eu correria:

sudo rfkill unblock acer-wireless; sudo rfkill unblock wifi; sudo rfkill unblock all

Obviamente, substitua "acer-wireless" pelo nome de sua LAN sem fio, conforme mostrado em rfkill list
