Xubuntu 16.04 nova instalação não pode acessar o wifi

Acabei de fazer uma nova instalação do Xubuntu 16.04 no meu pavilhão x360, inicializei-o e não consegui me conectar à minha rede wifi. Eu tenho resolvido por um tempo, mas eu não consigo fazer isso funcionar. Este laptop não tem entrada ethernet, então não consigo me conectar dessa maneira. Qualquer ajuda seria muito apreciada.

Então eu fiz algumas pesquisas e encontrei algo sobre um arquivo de instalação e instalação da b43, que eu baixei em um PC separado e transferi. Eu executei os dois no meu laptop e recebi um erro porque não estava conectado à internet para que não pudesse acessar um arquivo broadcom on-line.

Então eu fui para o site do Xubuntu e onde ele disse para executar o comando de rede sudo lshw -C. E a primeira linha dizia DISABLED

O Wi-Fi e o funcionamento em rede estão ativados

Seu adaptador sem fio parece estar bloqueado por acer-wmi . Desativar executando

sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-acer.conf <<< "blacklist acer_wmi"

Reinicialize para aplicar.
