Para corrigir localidades, verifique suas configurações de suporte a idiomas - o inglês (Índia) deve estar instalado. Se não, instale-o. Então corra:

sudo locale-gen en_IN.UTF-8

Se isso não gerar a localidade, você pode usar

sudo dpkg-reconfigure locales

e escolha en_IN UTF-8 da lista massiva para fazer a mesma coisa

Depois de gerar a localidade desejada, verifique a saída de locale . Você quer ver:

e verifique novamente locale . Se as variáveis LC ainda estiverem erradas, faça:

nano ~/.pam_environment

e edite para que fique assim:

(deixe o papersize sozinho - não sei o que deve ser para você!)

Salve, saia, digite: source ~/.pam_environment e agora seu locale foi corrigido.
