Plugin do Mozilla não encontrado para instalar o icedtea

Não consegui configurar o plugin web icedtea porque os comandos ./configure falham devido a um erro desse tipo:

Package requirements (mozilla-plugin) were not met:
No package 'mozilla-plugin' found
Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.
Alternatively, you may set the environment variables MOZILLA_CFLAGS
and MOZILLA_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.

Eu tentei instalar o xulrunner sem sucesso. O que devo fazer?

A instalação do firefox-dev deve ser suficiente para isso. O xulrunner não é mais suportado como um componente independente no Ubuntu.
