Ubuntu 12.04 LTS: ReverseDDC não está funcionando corretamente

Toda vez que eu inicializo, eu me deparo com uma tela de login de baixa resolução, o que é bom, mas quando eu digito minha senha para iniciar no ambiente de área de trabalho, recebo uma mensagem Sem sinal a tela e eu tenho que mudar fisicamente a porta do conector. Alguém sabe o que fazer ou como consertar isso?

Quando instalei o Ubuntu 10.10 (ou qualquer distro derivada do debian), tive um problema semelhante. Eu consegui consertá-lo adicionando a linha abaixo à Seção "Dispositivo" e nomeando o Driver "radeon";

Se você não tiver um arquivo xorg (como versões mais recentes do Ubuntu não vêm geralmente com um), pode-se criar um, executando;

Xorg -configure
