Obtendo o dongle USB da AT & T Velocity no servidor Ubuntu 16.04

Prefácio:  Este dispositivo funciona bem quando conectado à versão desktop do Ubuntu. Cria uma nova interface de rede e fornece conectividade à Internet.

Mas, quando tento conectá-lo à edição do servidor, a interface de rede não é criada.

Alguém pode me orientar sobre como fazer isso funcionar?

Eu tentei entrar em contato com o suporte da ZTE, mas eles não ofereciam solução de problemas no Linux.

Sugiro que edite o arquivo /etc/network/interfaces para algo como:

auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

auto enp0s20f0u2
iface enp0s20f0u2 inet static
address 192.168.1.25
netmask 255.255.255.0
gateway 192.168.1.1
dns-nameservers 192.168.1.1 8.8.8.8

Sugiro um endereço estático para que você possa ssh e ftp no servidor. Certifique-se de selecionar um endereço estático fora do intervalo usado pelo servidor DHCP no roteador, switch ou outro ponto de acesso.

Faça o sistema ler e usar as alterações:

sudo ip addr flush dev enp0s20f0u2
sudo ifdown enp0s20f0u2 && sudo ifup -v enp0s20f0u2

Você se conectou?

ping -c3 192.168.1.1
ping -c3 www.google.com
