Não consegue encontrar o python como dependência?

Estou tentando instalar um software, mas quando tento executar o bash install-deps (de acordo com o leia-me), obtenho:

A questão é, quando tento instalar o python-apt como sugere:

Eu me considero um noob do Linux, mas python é instalado por padrão, certo? Quando eu corro whereis python, diz:

Então o python está definitivamente na minha máquina, na verdade, parece que eu tenho várias versões diferentes dele instaladas. Alguma sugestão de como resolver isso? "apt-get install -f" não parece ter qualquer efeito também.

Parece que o problema é pacotes quebrados. Ou parte disso de qualquer maneira:

E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

Então, para corrigir isso, tente isto:

$>sudo apt-get clean $>sudo apt-get update --fix-missing
