Pertinente trabalho de raiz estranho - nunca o configurei

Question

Eu estava monitorando meu log do crontab e vi isso:

Jun 12 20:17:01 HP250G3 CRON[4798]: (root) CMD (   cd / && run-parts --report /etc/cron.hourly)

Isso é normal? Eu nunca configurei nenhuma tarefa do cron para o root.

Sim, é normal.

De man run-parts

NAME
       run-parts - run scripts or programs in a directory

No seu caso, run-parts executam todos os scripts na pasta /etc/cron.hourly

Meu /etc/cron.hourly está vazio, portanto /etc/cron.daily

Sim, este cronjob existe por padrão. Ele é executado de hora em hora e executa os scripts em /etc/cron.hourly/ (se houver algum).
