Fones de ouvido não detectados em 13.10

Sou novo no Ubuntu, executando 13.10 em um Alienware M14x R2 . O laptop vem com uma placa de som "Intel Panther Point PCH - Controlador de áudio de alta definição" (para a qual não encontrei um driver Linux). A execução de cat /proc/asound/card0/codec* | grep Codec retorna "Creative CA0132", que, na minha opinião, é reconhecida como "Soundblaster Recon3di" no Windows. Quando eu conecto meus fones de ouvido, nenhum dispositivo de áudio é detectado e o som continua a ser reproduzido pelos alto-falantes. Eu tentei correr alsamixer para desativar o auto-mute, mas não há opção de auto-mute. Eu também tentei acrescentar "snd-hda-intel position_fix = 1" com uma sintaxe variada ao arquivo alsa-base.conf. Eu tentei brincar com o parâmetro model, mas nenhuma das opções listadas aqui

Não houve diferença com os fones de ouvido desconectados. amixer -c 0 , fones de ouvido conectados.

Houve diferença aqui. Quando eu corri o comando sem fones de ouvido, a saída leu Client Index: 22 na linha 5.

Obrigado pelo feedback até agora. AFAIK, não há nada de errado com meus fones de ouvido; Eu os usei em outros dispositivos.

edit: Os fones de ouvido são detectados quando conectados à entrada do fone de ouvido. As configurações de som irão ler "fones de ouvido" ao invés de "alto-falantes", e os fones de ouvido irão quebrar momentaneamente quando conectados, mas os alto-falantes continuarão a tocar sobre eles.
