Esse kernel é obsoleto, não está mais no repositório.
Tente estes:
uname -a
Por favor, anexe sua saída à pergunta.
Atualize o kernel
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get install linux-generic
Reinicialize, verifique se o kernel foi atualizado:
uname -a
Depois, veja novamente com a caixa virtual.
