Abra o arquivo smb.conf para edição ( gksu gedit /etc/samba/smb.conf
) e veja a seção Definições de Compartilhamento, ele parece ter tudo que você precisa.

Não-comum significa remover o ;
do início de uma linha (não remova os sinais de hash). Coisas não comentadas nos dois primeiros parágrafos, e definindo o diretório inicial para ser gravável e navegável, a maneira que eu fiz acima deveria ser realmente isso.
Salve e saia quando terminar, depois reinicie o samba com sudo service smbd restart
