VLC não é possível abrir o MRL

Question

Estou tentando reproduzir um VCD usando:

/usr/bin/vlc vcd://

Mas recebo o erro abaixo:

Eu instalei vlc package em vez de vlc-nox e isso ajudou.

Eu instalei

sudo apt install browser-plugin-vlc

E tudo foi corrigido, agora posso reproduzir arquivos da rede e de unidades montadas.
