Xubuntu 17.10: o compiz não pode iniciar

Eu configurei o Compiz para meu Xubuntu 17.10 com base na resposta aqui: Como Instalar o Compiz no Xubuntu?

sudo apt-get install compiz compiz-plugins-main compiz-plugins-extra
sudo apt-get install compizconfig-settings-manager

E tentou iniciar o Compiz assim:

No entanto, mesmo que a decoração da janela esteja ativada, parece que acabo sem decorações nas janelas ...

Experimente este comando:

compiz --replace

Ou, redefinir:

dconf reset -f /org/compiz/

Então comece. Vai funcionar.
