Adaptador Bluetooth Intel 8260 não encontrado

Eu tenho uma placa-mãe Gigabyte Z170N Gaming 5 rodando Ubuntu 16.04.2 com wi-fi e bluetooth embutidos. O wifi funciona bem, mas o bluetooth não funciona de todo. O controlador de rede é a Intel Corporation Wireless 8260 (rev 3a). Mais informações sobre o sistema são mostradas abaixo:

Parece que o serviço bluetooth está sendo executado no Ubuntu, mas o adaptador não foi encontrado de acordo com as configurações do sistema. Como faço para o Ubuntu reconhecer o adaptador bluetooth nesta placa-mãe? Se eu não consigo colocar o bluetooth na placa-mãe para funcionar, existem adaptadores bluetooth USB que são verificados para funcionar com o Ubuntu?

O Ubuntu não é compatível com o BT neste dispositivo - eu o li em outro fórum - espero que isso ajude.
