Por que meu monitor não funciona?

Eu tive meu monitor HD funcionando bem, liguei a um vga em outro lugar e quando voltei, tudo o que eu tinha na tela do HD era a negritude.

Existem configurações que poderiam ter sido alteradas automaticamente por meu plug-in em um monitor VGA?

Se houver alguma dessas configurações, como faço para alterá-las?

(Eu confirmei o problema tentando duas telas HD diferentes com resultados semelhantes e tentei todas as combinações possíveis de configurações de exibição.)

É um laptop em que você está? Se assim for, às vezes há um atalho de teclado para alternar entre as portas de exibição. No meu laptop é FN (localizado na parte inferior esquerda do teclado) + F10.

Qualquer que seja a chave, provavelmente terá um ícone em um monitor e um laptop lado a lado com uma linha entre eles.

Acontece que é FN + F7 de acordo com as instruções do seu laptop.
