Force a verificação do dispositivo pci que foi detectado erroneamente pelo sistema operacional

Estou usando ubuntu 14.04.3 , kernel version 3.13.0-67 com uma placa Wi-Fi Atheros AR93xx . Muitas das vezes, nenhuma conexão sem fio foi detectada na inicialização do sistema. Abaixo está o problema que detectei.

A placa wireless deve ser detectada como "Network Controller" pelo kernel, no entanto ela é detectada como "Ethernet Controller" pelo kernel. Abaixo está o log do comando lspci -nn .

As soluções que tentei remover e redigitalizar o dispositivo.

mas isso novamente mostra a mesma coisa. A placa pci sem fio ainda detecta como controlador Ethernet. Eu entendo que ele é detectado pelo kernel de uma maneira errada, mas do que poderia ser a melhor maneira de fazer uma nova varredura do dispositivo (sem uma reinicialização) ou forçar o kernel a detectar o tipo correto de dispositivo.

Sugiro atualizar o kernel para o 4.4. Tem suporte de novos adaptadores sem fio da Quallcom. Correr no terminal

sudo apt-get install linux-generic-lts-xenial

e reinicie.

Então eu tentei atualizar para os kernels recentes e descobri que não era um problema com o kernel, mas com a integração da placa wireless e da placa-mãe. A placa wireless é conectada via pci e conversando com os fabricantes leva a uma conclusão de que "a placa wireless não enviou sinais adequados durante a inicialização apenas para uma placa específica" e, portanto, este problema ocorre. No entanto, uma solução provável parece reiniciar o dispositivo (manualmente ou usando um script)
