Como rebaixar o smbclient

Estou tentando fazer o downgrade do smbclient, pois não está mais trabalhando com o backuppc. Eu segui as instruções neste post Como fazer o downgrade de pacotes no Ubuntu? mas parece que não funciona.

eu corri

sudo apt-cache showpkg smbclient
sudo apt-get install smbclient=2:4.1.6+dfsg-1ubuntu2

Mas isso não faz nada. A versão smbclient ainda é a versão 4.3.9-Ubuntu.

Eu tentei remover o smbclient e reinstalá-lo. Isso resulta em dependências não atendidas.

sudo aptitude install smbclient=2:4.1.6+dfsg-1ubuntu2

Típico! Depois de horas pesquisando por uma resposta, eu a acho 2 minutos depois de postar a pergunta. Aptidão cuida das dependências. Eu não sabia que o apt-get não faria isso.
