Eu tenho uma nova DELL Latitude 7470 com o Ubuntu 14.04. Eu não sou capaz de usar WIFI ou Ethernet no laptop, mas a internet usando tethering USB funciona. Eu acho que pode ser problema de drivers.

O comando sudo ubuntu-drivers devices não mostra nenhuma saída e também não apresenta erros.

O mesmo aconteceu comigo, mesmo computador, mesmo sistema operacional. No momento eu ainda estou olhando para o assunto, mas parece que a versão do Kernel 3.19.0.68 é de alguma forma responsável pelo problema.
Como uma solução temporária na inicialização, pressione ESC quando o logotipo do Ubuntu for exibido, selecione "Opções Avançadas" e selecione outra versão do kernel (por exemplo, o .30 funciona perfeitamente)
Assim que eu encontrar uma solução permanente, postarei aqui.
