Não é possível abrir as configurações do sistema

Estou usando um sistema Ubuntu 14.04 de 64 bits. Eu tentei abrir o ícone de configurações do sistema, o lançador e o painel no canto superior direito da tela. Tentei executar gnome-control-center e unity-control-center 'e recebo este erro: -

As configurações do sistema começaram a funcionar depois que eu reiniciei o sistema.
