Asus K501UX touchpad não funciona Ubuntu 14.04

Acabei de fazer uma nova instalação do Ubuntu 14.04.3 no meu Asus K501UX e o touchpad está falhando. Ele não aparece nos dispositivos e várias outras coisas que tentei falharam. Ratos externos trabalham.

Eu tentei recarregar o driver :

sudo modprobe -r psmouse
sudo modprobe psmouse proto=imps

reinstalando o driver :

sudo apt-get --purge autoremove xserver-xorg-input-synaptics && sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-input-synaptics

adicionando "psmouse.proto = bare" ao cmdline do kernel e seja o que for isso. Nenhum funcionou.

Meu problema parece estar no kernel, pois o dispositivo não aparece em / proc / bus / input / devices:

O suporte Kernal para o touchpad do Asus K501UX está disponível na v4.2. Finalmente consegui que funcionasse depois de procurar freneticamente em todo lugar pelo motorista.

sudo apt-get install linux-generic-lts-wily
