Após a instalação, iniciei a minha conexão USB novamente e executei as seguintes etapas:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:yannubuntu/boot-repair
sudo sh -c "sed -i 's/trusty/saucy/g' /etc/apt/sources.list.d/yannubuntu-boot-repair-trusty.list"
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install -y boot-repair && boot-repair
Não recebo mensagens de erro após as três primeiras etapas. No entanto, no último eu recebo a saída:
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
E: Unable to locate package boot-repair
Há muitas perguntas como esta aqui feita. No entanto, as soluções parecem ser sempre as 4 etapas que já utilizo. Por favor ajude

Parece que no repositório não há pacotes para lançamento picante. Talvez você possa tentar instalar aquele para a versão confiável (ou seja, omitir o segundo comando - sudo sh -c "sed -i '/ trusty / saucy / g' /etc/apt/sources.list.d/yannubuntu-boot- repair-trusty.list ")
