Tente conectá-lo, desmonte-o e tente particioná-lo com um
"sudo mkfs.vfat -F32 -I /dev/sdX"
Eu tentei formatar meu USB usando disks . O resultado foi:

Então eu tentei o GParted e há duas opções (novas, informações). Clico em "novo" e diz:
A partition table is required before partitions can be added.
To create a new partition table choose the menu item:
Device --> Create Partition Table)
Clique no dispositivo, crie uma tabela de partições ( msdos ) e isso me dará uma mensagem:
Input/output error during read on /dev/sdc
Repetir não faz nada, por isso, pressiono ignorar e, em seguida, meu PC remove automaticamente meu USB. Eu removê-lo e reconectar e ainda não consigo ler o meu USB ou vê-lo em arquivos (Nautilus).
