O Ubuntu não consegue se conectar ao centro de software?

Eu estava recebendo um erro que você está recebendo dentro dessa saída

pycompile: not found

Eu descobri que minha instalação em python estava quebrada

$ which python
/usr/bin/python # in red, as a broken link
$ ls -la /usr/bin/python
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 9 oct  5 20:55 /usr/bin/python -> python2.6 # in red as well

python-2.6 não foi instalado no meu sistema (python-2.7 foi instalado), então eu corrigi o problema com

$ sudo ln -sf python2.7 /usr/bin/python

E agora o comando que eu estava tentando originalmente ( sudo dpkg --configure -a ) funciona novamente.

Não tenho certeza se é o mesmo problema, mas talvez ajude.
