Posso atualizar o Totem para a versão 3.6.3 no Ubuntu 12.04 sem o webupd8 ppa. Eu tentei o processo de aqui , mas Eu tenho alguns problemas com as dependências. O motivo pelo qual eu quero o Totem 3.6.3 é claro para as mudanças mais recentes e melhorias de velocidade.
A solução por Wilf não funciona! Foi o que aconteceu quando segui o procedimento:

Parece que eu recebo erros ao instalar as depedências que o Wilf sugeriu, mas eu as desinstalei antes de instalar a versão mais recente. Aqui está o que eu tenho no terminal:

Parece que estou perdendo alguns dep's, e o libglib2.0-0 no meu sistema (2.34.1) é mais recente do que o que está na página de edição (2.33.14) e diz que preciso de 2.35.9, parece que tenho que pesquisar Página de Saucy ou Trusty para libglib2.0-0 v.2.35 . Ok, eu verifiquei, Saucy está usando exatamente a mesma versão de libglib2.0-0 , já que ainda é 2.33.14 . No entanto, Trusty está usando 2.39.3 e estou usando 2.34.1 , então o que devo usar?

Ignore o que eu disse como se eles colocassem o número da versão errada na descrição, mas quando você entra na página, é na verdade 2.36.0 para Raring, 2.38.0 para Saucy e 2.39.3 para Trusty. Então, devo ir com 2.36.0 ou devo obter 2.35.9 ? O 2.36.0 também não funcionaria? Eu vou com v. 2.35.9 encontrado aqui.
Ok, todas essas dependências estão levando a mais dependências, e parece um loop infinito, e o Synaptic não pode mais remover os pacotes quebrados! Vou começar com um backup da minha máquina virtual antes de começar a atualizar o Totem novamente, então posso ser assistido novamente.
O Gdebi parece não gostar do Éter Totem 3.6.3 devido ao plugin do totem-mozilla.
