12.04 não é possível conectar-se ao WEP

Atualmente, estou executando um dual boot do Windows 7 e do Ubuntu 12.04 LTS e não consegui me conectar de forma estável ao meu WiFi protegido por WEP, embora eu possa me conectar a outras conexões WPA (2). Nas raras ocasiões em que a conexão é feita, não há acesso à Internet. Eu não tenho acesso às configurações do roteador, pois ele pertence ao proprietário.

Eu tentei:

  1. Atualizando para o compat-drivers-3.9-rc4-2-su
  2. bloqueando o IPv6

Mas ainda não funciona. rfkill mostra que tudo está desbloqueado.

Espero que você saiba a senha WEP para se conectar ao seu dispositivo sem fio.
Então siga:
1.Pode por favor deletar sua conexão WEP do editor de conexão-nm?

Click on wireless  
Select your wifi connection name  
Click on Delete.  

2.Uma vez excluído, tente pesquisar o seu dispositivo sem fio nas redes listadas.
3.Conecte-se a isso, que solicitará que você insira a frase secreta.
