É um bug conhecido , receio. libxml2-dev está marcado como co-instalável em vários arcos, mas na verdade não é.
Desinstalar: apt-get remove libxml2-dev:i386
Eu segui este procedimento para restaurar uma lista de pacotes previamente exportada em um novo sistema. No final do procedimento, depois de sudo apt-get dselect-upgrade -y , recebi esta mensagem:
